Winter: The Building Season

Winter is the building season.
Days are shorter, people spend more time inside, and everything naturally slows down.
This season is my favorite time for preparation, focus, healing, and planning.
Planning Less and Leaving Space
After the holidays, winter is basically a wide open season. I love being able to be in the same place, rebuild my routine, catch up on sleep, basically doing all the things that allow me to focus.
Working With Energy
Energy is often lower in winter. Instead of forcing myself to be energized, I allow my body to rest. During the other seasons, I am traveling a lot for work, and doing so many things all the time. It becomes exhausting and I feel like winter is when I am able to finally catch up on all the sleep that I missed out on.
Using Time at Home Well
Winter usually means more time at home. One of my favorite things to do is organize, and get rid of things! This is a huge aspect of my Release phase in my guide that I'm launching in the Spring ;)
Cleaning up living spaces, digital files, and unfinished tasks makes daily life easier later on when the busier seasons come in.
Winter is better for maintenance than big expansion. It is a practical time to fix systems, simplify habits, and finish loose ends. These small efforts help create a stronger base for future goals.
A solid base makes growth easier later.
Planning the Year Ahead
Winter is a good time to think ahead. Reviewing goals, adjusting plans, and outlining next steps can happen without pressure. I love to create a calendar for my entire year and fully fill it out with routines, goals, plans, and events. It's something I actually find to be the key to achieving my goals.
